Evalutation

Having completed my magazine cover i will now evaluate it.
My text is similar to other magazines as it uses straplines, a header and other characteristics used by other magazines. However i have maintained originality in a number of ways. I used a generator to create a barcode for my magazine which is completly unique. I have used a clear colour scheme.
I used a digital SLR camera to obtain my background image. This helped as i was able to take a good quality picture which was easy to edit. It allowed me to be very creative and original as i was not limited in what i could do.
I beleive that i was able to communicate with my audience very well by the placing of straplines and headers. I used screamers to get the attentionof the audience paired with large, bright fonts. I feel that my cover communicates well because of its layout and the high quality of information provided.

Planning and research

Brief
I will be designing a front cover and contents page for a student magazine. My audience will be current and new college students at a sixth form level.

Research
For my research i have looked at a collection of existing student magazine covers and established the key aspects that they all contain. From this I have been able to establish what my magazine cover should contain. I have also practiced using photoshop techniques to edit photographs so that i will be able to edit any used on my front cover.
